EWOT #5
My EWOT this week is about something that happened in recitiation. In the game we played, one girl told the class afterwards that she rejected a 6:4 offer so that people ahead of this person wouldn't rip her off. the person after offered her a 5.5:4.5 and she accepted. This decision of hers was very bad economics on her part. For one, there is only two offers that she would get. If she rejected 4 points, and ended up with 4.5 points total, for points that she accepted, then she would have had to been offered a 0 in the next the next round for this to be a profitable decision. Otherwise she lost out on important extra credit points. Also, people's grades in the class are not affected on what other people receive in the class. The smart decision would be to accept any offer that you get, because in the end you will still end up with more extra credit points than if you reject an offer. I had the most points in the class at the end of the game, and I accepted every offer. If someone offered me a 9.5:0.5 offer, I would still accept it because though I am getting ripped off, I am bettering myself off more than if I reject a deal. This girl had the lowest amount of points with 13. All she did to herself was lose out on some extra points towards her test grade by rejecting an offer.

There might be some reasons that we would reject these "unfair" offers though. What might those be?
